Overview of Chine Walk

Chine Walk is a modern four-bedroom holiday home in Alum Chine, positioned only around five minutes' walk from one of Bournemouth's best family beaches. Its combination of beach access, private parking and a lawned garden makes it particularly attractive for families wanting a seaside holiday without staying in the busiest part of central Bournemouth. See our full selection of large holiday cottages for groups in Bournemouth here.

The ground floor has been extensively renovated and now revolves around a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. A central island creates a natural gathering point, while the dining table accommodates all eight guests. A snug area with comfortable seating and wall-mounted television gives the room another place to relax without separating the group.

Bi-fold doors connect the living space directly with the private garden, allowing the house to open up during warmer weather. Outside, a lawn and patio are complemented by corner seating and a table for relaxed meals and drinks.

Four bedrooms provide the sleeping accommodation. The principal king room has its own shower room, while the remaining rooms include a double, twin and single bedroom. The single room has a pull-out bed that can be prepared by request, increasing capacity from seven to eight.

Alum Chine Beach, tropical gardens and children's playground are all close by, while Westbourne's restaurants, cafés and independent shops can be reached on foot. The seafront promenade also creates an easy route towards Bournemouth Pier in one direction and Branksome and Sandbanks in the other.

Location & Things to Do Near Chine Walk

Chine Walk sits in Alum Chine on the western side of Bournemouth, giving guests an excellent balance between a quieter residential setting and easy access to one of the south coast's longest stretches of sandy beach.

Alum Chine Beach is around five minutes away on foot. The Blue Flag beach is particularly popular with families, with a gently shelving shoreline, seasonal lifeguards, showers, refreshments and a large Treasure Island-themed children's play area. The adjoining tropical gardens create an attractive walking route between the coast and the residential streets above.

The promenade makes it easy to explore more of the coast without using the car. Head east and the seafront continues through Durley Chine towards Bournemouth Pier, where the group can combine a beach day with the Oceanarium, pier attractions, gardens, restaurants and town-centre shopping.

Walk west and the coastline leads towards Branksome Chine and eventually Sandbanks. This long, largely level seafront route is ideal for walking, cycling outside seasonal restriction times and relaxed family outings.

Westbourne is another major advantage of staying at Chine Walk. The neighbourhood has a strong independent character, with cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops centred around its Victorian arcade and surrounding streets. This gives the group plenty of options for eating out without always heading into central Bournemouth.

For a larger day out, Poole Harbour opens up boat trips and watersports, while Brownsea Island combines woodland, heathland and wildlife including its famous red squirrels. Sandbanks provides another outstanding beach and the chain ferry across to Studland, giving easy access to the Isle of Purbeck and further Dorset coastline.
