Overview of Clanacombe Lodge
Clanacombe Lodge is a substantial four-bedroom holiday home sleeping eight in West Buckland, a small rural hamlet close to Bantham on the South Devon coast. Dating from the early 1800s, the property has been renovated into a spacious group holiday home while retaining the sense of scale and character of an older country property. See our full range of large holiday cottages in Bantham here.
The principal social space is a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen island seats four, the main dining table accommodates up to ten and several sofas and chairs allow guests to relax without leaving the same room. A wood-burning stove adds warmth during cooler stays, while patio doors connect the room directly with the garden.
There is also a separate snug with its own television, sofa, chair and desk space. This additional room is useful when children want to watch something different, part of the group wants a quieter evening or someone needs occasional workspace.
Four bedrooms occupy the upper floor, with a king, two doubles and a twin giving a straightforward arrangement for eight guests. Three separate shower rooms help reduce queues when the house is full.
Outside, the garden gives children plenty of room to play and includes two seating areas, a large patio and lawn. The private driveway can accommodate up to five cars.
Bantham Beach is approximately two miles away, while Thurlestone, South Milton and several other beaches are within a few miles. Kingsbridge is around four miles away for shops and restaurants, making Clanacombe Lodge a strong base for a group wanting countryside, coast and plenty of space.
