Overview of Lower Garrick
Lower Garrick enjoys one of its greatest assets from the moment you head upstairs: sweeping views across Port Isaac Bay and the North Cornwall coast. Set at the top of the fishing village, the house offers families and friends a quieter place to stay while keeping the historic harbour, restaurants and sheltered cove at Port Gaverne around a 15-minute walk away. Sleeping eight across four bedrooms, the accommodation works particularly well for family groups. Alongside two double rooms is a twin bedroom and a triple room with bunk beds and an additional single, giving parents plenty of flexibility when travelling with children.
The first-floor sitting room makes the most of the elevated position, with large picture windows framing the sea. The principal bedroom sits alongside and opens onto its own balcony, creating another wonderful place to enjoy the coastal outlook.
Outside, Lower Garrick has far more space than many properties in Port Isaac. Mature gardens surround the house, while the large gently sloping lawn on the seaward side looks towards Port Gaverne and provides plenty of room for children and dogs. A barbecue area makes it easy to enjoy summer meals outside.
The location opens up some of North Cornwall's best days out. Walk down into Port Isaac for fresh seafood and harbour life, continue around the coast to Port Gaverne or head farther afield to Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Tintagel and the Camel Estuary.
For groups wanting the character of Port Isaac without staying among the busiest harbour streets, Lower Garrick combines space, parking and superb sea views in a particularly appealing setting.

Location & Things to Do Near Lower Garrick
Lower Garrick sits above Port Isaac on the rugged North Cornwall coast, giving guests excellent views while keeping the historic fishing village within walking distance. Staying slightly above the harbour also makes it easier to explore the wider area, with parking at the house and good road access towards the Camel Estuary, Tintagel and Wadebridge.
Port Isaac is one of Cornwall's most distinctive coastal villages. Whitewashed cottages and slate-fronted houses line narrow lanes that tumble down towards the working harbour, where fishing boats still land their catch. Independent shops, cafés, pubs and several excellent seafood restaurants are tucked around the village.
Port Gaverne lies around the headland and can also be reached in about 15 minutes from Lower Garrick. Its sheltered cove has rock pools and areas of sand at low tide, making it a lovely option for families as well as a starting point for kayaking and coastal activities.
Walkers have some superb stretches of the South West Coast Path nearby. One memorable route heads west from Port Isaac towards Port Quin, passing dramatic cliffs and Doyden Castle before reaching the secluded inlet.
For classic sandy beach days, Polzeath and Daymer Bay are both within an easy drive. Polzeath is particularly well known for surfing, while Daymer Bay offers a more sheltered beach beside the Camel Estuary.
Rock sits nearby on the estuary and passenger ferries cross to Padstow, opening up another excellent day of harbour walks, independent shopping and restaurants without driving around the estuary.
Tintagel and Boscastle provide further options along the North Cornwall coast, while Wadebridge is approximately nine miles away for larger shops and access to the Camel Trail.
