Overview of Pleydon Meadow
Pleydon Meadow is an impressive converted barn above Polperro, combining the character of a traditional Cornish building with the space and facilities that make a large group holiday easy. Sleeping ten across five bedrooms, it works particularly well for families sharing, multi-generational groups and friends looking for somewhere with plenty to enjoy both inside and outside.
The setting is a major part of its appeal. The property enjoys far-reaching countryside and sea views, yet Polperro's harbour, pubs, restaurants and narrow village streets are close by. Walkers can also join the South West Coast Path for days exploring the dramatic coastline towards Talland Bay, Looe or Lansallos.
Inside, exposed beams and a substantial oak staircase give the house plenty of character, while the open-plan kitchen, dining and family area provides the relaxed social space a group of ten needs. A separate lounge with log burner offers somewhere quieter to settle down in the evening.
The games annex is one of Pleydon Meadow's standout features. Pool, table football, a large Smart TV and music system create a dedicated space for adults and children, while its own bedroom and ensuite allow part of the group to have a little extra privacy.
Outside, the landscaped gardens are every bit as appealing. There is a large terrace for group meals, a dedicated barbecue area, lawns, an old stream and pond, plus a shepherd's hut tucked higher in the garden for quieter moments.
For groups looking to combine the atmosphere of Polperro with generous gardens, sea views and plenty to do at the house, Pleydon Meadow makes an excellent base for exploring South East Cornwall.

Location & Things to Do Near Pleydon Meadow
Pleydon Meadow sits above Polperro on the South Cornwall coast, giving guests easy access to one of Cornwall's most distinctive fishing villages while keeping a little distance from the busiest harbour streets.
Polperro is a wonderful place to explore on foot. Traditional cottages tumble down the steep-sided valley towards the working harbour, with narrow lanes lined by independent shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants. The village's fishing and smuggling history can be explored at the local heritage museum, while walks above either side of the harbour reveal some excellent coastal views.
The South West Coast Path is one of the biggest attractions for active groups. Heading east from Polperro, walkers can follow the coast towards Talland Bay and on to Looe. The Polperro to Looe section is approximately 5.5 miles and takes in cliffs, coves and harbour scenery along the way.
Talland Bay is an excellent shorter destination, with two small beaches, rock pools and places to stop for refreshments. It can be reached as part of a circular walk from Polperro, making it a good option when the whole group wants a manageable day on foot.
To the west, the coastline becomes increasingly wild around Lansallos and Lantic Bay. Woodland valleys lead down towards quieter coves, while longer stretches of coast path continue towards Polruan and the Fowey Estuary.
Looe is close enough for an easy day out and offers a larger sandy beach, working fishing harbour, boat trips and a wider choice of shops and restaurants. In the opposite direction, the passenger ferry from Polruan provides a memorable way to reach Fowey for waterfront dining, independent shopping and harbour views.
Pleydon Meadow therefore gives groups a good balance between days spent enjoying the house and gardens and days exploring some of South East Cornwall's most attractive villages, beaches and coastal walks.
