Overview of Wharfinger

The house has plenty of room for a group to spread out. Two separate sitting rooms occupy the ground floor, giving adults and children the option of relaxing in different spaces, while the bright breakfast and dining room has seating for up to ten and opens towards the garden.
The bedroom layout is flexible too, with one king-size room and three twin rooms, one of which can be converted into a super king when requested. This makes Wharfinger a good choice for families, friends and mixed groups who do not all need fixed double bedrooms.
Outside, the tiered garden gives guests several different places to sit. A sheltered patio sits closest to the house, with a second paved area for outdoor dining and a lawn at the top of the garden.
The location is one of the biggest reasons to book. Summerleaze Beach, Bude Sea Pool, the canal towpath, shops, cafés and restaurants are all close by, while Crooklets Beach and the South West Coast Path are also easy to reach on foot.
For groups looking for a spacious dog-friendly cottage with plenty of character and one of Bude's best locations, Wharfinger is a very appealing choice.

Group Accommodation Layout
| Bedroom | Sleeping Arrangement | Bathroom |
|---|---|---|
| Bedroom 1 | 5ft king-size bed | Family bathroom nearby |
| Bedroom 2 | Two 3ft single beds | Family bathroom nearby |
| Bedroom 3 | Two 3ft singles or super king | Family bathroom nearby |

Bedroom 2 overlooks the garden and includes its own vanity basin.
Bedroom 3 also faces the canal and can be prepared as either twin beds or a super king when requested.
Bedroom 4 looks across the garden and church and opens through French doors onto a small railed balcony.
How does the layout work for a group of 8?
One couple can take the fixed king-size room, while the flexible third bedroom can become another double if required.
The two remaining twin rooms provide four separate beds for children, teenagers or friends.

Wharfinger has two bathrooms.
- Ground-floor shower room with power shower, WC and basin
- First-floor family bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and basin

Location & Things to Do Near Wharfinger
Wharfinger sits beside Bude Canal, giving guests an unusually good choice between beach days, waterside walks and town life without needing to travel far.
Summerleaze Beach is around 500 yards away and is one of Bude's main family beaches. Its broad sandy shoreline is popular for swimming and surfing, while Bude Sea Pool sits among the rocks at one end of the beach and offers a calmer place for a dip.
The canal provides a very different experience. The towpath is largely level and easy to follow, making it ideal for relaxed walks and cycling, while the water itself is used for kayaking, rowing and other gentle activities. The surrounding marshes add wildlife and quieter scenery only moments from the centre of town.
Crooklets Beach is also within walking distance and is another popular surfing spot, with a sandy bay, rock pools and good local facilities. From there, walkers can join the South West Coast Path and continue north along the cliffs towards Northcott Mouth.
Bude town centre has a good mix of independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, so different members of a larger group can easily spend time apart and meet back at the house later.
For a longer day out, Widemouth Bay is only a short drive south and is another excellent surfing beach. Crackington Haven, Boscastle and Tintagel are all within reach for exploring more of North Cornwall's rugged Atlantic coastline.
Wharfinger's biggest advantage is how much can be done on foot. Beach days, swimming, surfing, canal walks and meals out can all form part of the holiday without constantly organising cars.
